AM02-0046 Ferrari 812 Competizione

I decided to use thin brass sheet to fix it. First, using modelling tape I chatted the left hand side to see the form of the missing piece. Then I cut the same form from the brass sheet. I also cut a bigger piece that I glued to the resin. Added quite a bit of CA glue, some sanding/glue/sanding followed by 2 hands of Mr Primer Surfacer.

All resin parts fit like LEGO, most complicated part are the decals. There is a lot of carbon fibre decals, like a LOT! Good new is they are exceptionally well fitting and then the paper is also excellent. This makes the process so much easier, satisfying and well doable.

PE parts also fit very well and there are zero issues with them. This is not the case for the metal transfers though.

 I covered the carbon decals with Tamiya X-22 clear. I also painted all the parts with NATO Black XF-69 which is quite matte. Covered parts of the seats with Tamiya Semi Gloss clear X-35 to differentiate between the different materials.

Time to paint this Ferrari 812 Competizione. Paint chosen is Grigio Silverstone.

Started with the regular scribing and a bath process, that you can see on every resin build and that is for a reason. Afterwards sprayed a layer of Mr.Primer Surfacer, lightly sanded it with 3k Tamiya sponge. This was followed by Gloss Black X-1 Tamiya paint, I just like my metalics on a gloss black base and this is no exception.

Few days later I again sanded everything veeery lightly with 3k sponge and moved to the main paint - Grigio Silverstone.

All followed by 2k Gloss, I will give it a week or two to fully zure and then proceed with polishing. Meanwhile will be busy on the interior and the rest of the model.

Finishing a model is so satisfying, especially when it’s looking great.  I love this hobby ALPHA Model Ferrari 812 Competizione via n Grigio silverstone colour, scale 1/24. This is excellent model for anyone regardless of skill level.

Assembling it is like LEGO, everything fits perfectly, number of pieces is not big, Photoetch is not too complicated. In general, I STRONGLY recommend this kit!
