Aston Martin and DB 7 racecar - A Collaboration

When I first saw "ZAAR" (pronounced: ZAAR') I instantly thought it was a typo forrazine.aston martin zagato So I looked it up on the Internet and turned up some interesting details about this Italian sports car. It is called the Aston Martin Racing Cars and it was founded by Giuseppe Zambelli in 1963 with the goal of building a faster, more powerful, and more technologically advanced automobile. The company hasn't produced any vehicles for sale in the U.S. to date, but they were able to help launch NASCAR, a racing competition popular in the U.S. today.

The most successful model of the Zagato company is still called the MR2, which means "montreaux sauvignon".aston martin zagato aston martin zagato The most successful model of the brand, however, is the Zagato MR2 Cabriolet, which has a two-seat convertible that tops out at 98 HP (based on the GMC engine data sheet). The Zagato has two doors, both rear-hinged and rear-entering, as well as a trunk that can carry up to three standard golf bags, or up to ten golf bags when using a rear mounted trailer. The interior has carbon fibre panels, front and rear vents, front and rear headlamps, fog lights, and plenty of storage room underneath. The car also features Brembo brakes, suspensions, and rear stabilizers - all of which help it achieve top speed of over 55mph (!)

This is the one and only known working model of the new Aston Martin V12.aston martin zagato aston martin zagato It was developed for the purpose of testing high-speed aerodynamics, and was led by the now ex Jaguar head of design, Frank Crouse. The production model of the V12 is lighter and much less aerodynamic, compared to the V8, which led to the production needing to move the production back a few months to allow for the use of carbon fibre for the construction. Aston Martin kept this secret for twelve months, until a press release was accidentally published in the January edition of Car Magazine. Now the V12 is available for all to enjoy!

Another concept car of mine, that wasn't developed by Aston Martin, but I'm sure many readers will be interested in is a three-seater, front-wheel drive, naturally aspirated V12. This car is called the Zagato Speedster and has been designed by none other than Luigi Zagata. He is a famous Italian designer who is best known for creating hot-looking design concepts and beautiful works of art. His work often appeared in Mercedes, BMW, and Bugatti. The Zagato Speedster is no exception and although it is not my favourite project car, it is a very interesting one.

The Zagato Speedster is powered by a Naturally Aspirated V12 engine with aluminium heads and block, contributing to an impressively low weight of just 1125kg (which is a lot lighter than the full-sized, 4.2L V12 from Aston Martin). It also features a magnesium reinforced, cast-metal hood with central cooling ducts and front grill, magnesium side skirts and front bumper lip. It also features a central two-piece forged, adjustable front strut brace, front and rear bumpers, Brembo brakes with magnesium discs, and a shortened, lower front strut.

These are only a handful of projects the two companies have worked on together and I'm sure others will emerge in due time. What's more, I'm sure they will continue to do so as long as the market for Light Horse cars exists and as long as there's a market for them. So go check out some Zagato examples now while you can get your first collaboration with Aston Martin too. They'll be worth checking out if you want a super car with class and speed.
